Got your iPhone water damaged accidentally when you’re having fun with your family on the seashore? Is it saveable?
We’ve got one recently. It’s all wet and soaked with water inside. You might wonder is it still saveable. This blog can give you some idea.
This is an iPhone 12 mini which dropped into a lake. The phone was used for quite a few days after pulling out of water until the back camera was covered with moisture, see image below.
An iPhone which was never repaired is water tight, but in some harsh conditions, it is not. No phones are 100% water tight, but water resistance can somewhat prevent too much water from going inside to damaged a phone. Pictures below show what the inside of the iPhone 12 mini looked like.
1) There was some water on top of the inside of the phone.
2) On back of the screen, water mark showed.
3) Face ID dot project is very sensitive component and easy to damage by water. Unluckily it’s damaged.
4) There was no water or marks seen on the motherboard, which means not too much water went inside.
The iPhone was opened, cleaned and dried. Except the Face ID, everything worked fine.
